How To Lose Cellulite – Diet & Exercise
Losing Cellulite And Really Getting In Shape
I am a firm believer that reducing ones cellulite is firstly about re-toning those saggy muscles that are failing to keep your skin tight and smooth, and secondly about diet.
However, I do think you can only go so far with exercise alone, sure tone those muscle up, but if your carrying 20 – 30% body fat it stands to reason that you’ve got to have some wobbly bits.
Anyway the point of this post is to introduce some dietary principals which I believe are well worth abiding by. Not only for cosmetic reasons but for your overall longevity!
I personally have been introduced to Paleo eating by my daughter, but I can understand this won’t be for everyone. However a friend recently bought a diet program online, which she swears by. However the lady that designed the course has also provided some fantastic free diet advice.
The ethos behind her thinking is that what we should be doing is never going hungry, because there is plenty of delicious healthy food to eat, for dietary change to work you have to feel fulfilled and not like you are missing out.
I’ve decided to copy her videos on this post as I think they are super helpful, and I can vouch for the fact that cutting out some of her nominated top offenders has helped me to she 10lb of stubborn fat.
So without further ado let’s introduce Isabel Del los Rios
Saturated Fats
A really interesting video explaining the truth about saturated fats in our modern day diets. For those of you like me who get confused with the various types of fat out there, saturated fats include animal fats, and made made fats like margarine and apparently healthy alternatives to butter.
The point of the video is for Isabel to explain the science behind her belief that our bodies are really happy digesting natural animal fats, and can do so very efficiently.
On the flip side they suck big time at breaking down our man made mass produced alternatives.
The recommendation is therefore to eat natural fats found in meats, fish, nuts, and even some butters, but to cut out ALL man made fats that are often labelled “healthy”.
Hydrogenated Oils And Trans Fats
This is one of the major ingredients that is found in many man made food products. If you haven’t you must watch this video above.
This man made oil helps extend the shelf life of food products, which is good for manufacturers, but super bad for our bodies. This ingredient is one of the top causes of heart disease, because it’s everywhere.
In the Vid Isabel could easily have done a whole families weekly shop, with products containing Hydrogenated Oil.
Cut this crap out of your diet, and you’ll lose weight, and likely live longer.
Carbohydrates – What Carbs To Eat And Avoid
This is another must see video uncovering the truth about carbohydrates
Isabel explains all the many sources of carbohydrates and their respective values.
The problem with our population getting fatter is that we all eat way to many carbohydrates.
What I like about this video is that Isabel doesn’t simply bash eating carbs, she explains which carbs do what for your body, and helps you decide which ones make sense for your lifestyle.
This is the first video Isabel talks about designing a diet that lets you eat plenty of food, but that is designed to lose you weight.
Though my daughter has migrated our family eating to a mostly (yes we do cheat occasionally) Paleo diet, this is very much in keeping with the eating style Isabel suggests.
Isabel is ultimately selling her highly acclaimed (well my friend swears by it:) diet program, personally I think if you watch all her videos you can easily get by without it.
My friend likes it because it includes all the recipes and meal plans, so she doesn’t have to think… what do I feed the family tonight?

Foods That Can Actually Help Burn Fats
Another great video from Isabel, where she talks about the fats to avoid at all costs, and the fats that can actually help speed up fat burning.
There are a lot of good fats in here, which I personally like such as Olive Oil, and Coconut Oil.
Since going Paleo I cook mostly now with Coconut Oil or Ghee Butter both of which are delicious.
Honestly kick out all the bad fats, start using coconut oil, and have a high protein breakfast within half an hour of getting up (I know this sounds gross, but it apparently fires up you metabolism by 20%). Just doing this has helped be get to a weight I thought was gone for good…
Diet Exercise And Cellulite Reduction
This post has probably swung to far in the Diet direction, as Joey Atlas say’s that his exercise program Naked Beauty (read review here) does not require ANY dietary changes to start seeing results.
In fact he warns that once you start to see your cellulite going after between 2 – 4 weeks, a big mistake many people make is to try and speed things up further. They do this by doing more exercise and consequently OVER training and actually slowing down your results.
This would have happened to me too, I hope you get the feeling I got when I was drying myself off after a shower and could actually see a difference…
I was like wow… If I can do this in just a few weeks with so little exercise (20 minutes 2 or 3 times a week MAX) what will happen if I double it?
Well Joey emphasizes the warning here and has provided alternate exercise for those inspired to do more. The alternate exercise work other muscle groups like arms, and abs, and also some fun cardio stuff.
So because just like Joey said I would, I felt I had to do more, so did in fact add a couple of extra programs occasionally just to satisfy this urge.
If you want to read about the very specific synergistic muscle layer stimulation exercises that are the heart of his Naked Beauty program go here.
Joey’s adamant that you don’t have to change your diet to get results, and Joey does have a degree in nutritional stuff (I think sports related). He say’s that by toning the muscles under the skin the dimpled cellulite effect will reduce because the skin becomes tighter due to better support from the muscles. He goes on to say that even if your carrying a little more weight than is ideal, your skin will STILL get smother and lose cellulite.
I wouldn’t argue with Joey, but feel I must add how much better I feel through what I guess is a combined effect of moderate exercise and a much improved diet.
I haven’t added any links to Paleo diets because if you simply Google it you’ll get a lifetimes worth of results. All I did was make sure I was happy with the principals behind paleo, and just searched the web for recipes to make up a simple weekly meal plan.
The rest became simply substituting healthy alternatives.
